Wojciech Odrobina Ireland – Show us some urban planifications
Urban planning is a discipline that seeks to improve the well-being of people and their communities by developing more equitable, healthy, efficient and attractive cities for present and future generations.
Urban Planning is a profession that articulates and mediates the complex system of relationships and interests that are established between the various disciplines and multiple actors that influence the design and development of cities. It focuses on the understanding of the urban phenomenon, in order to optimize its use and achieve sustainable development, through public and private management. Therefore, it involves the spatial distribution of all human activities and decision-making that affect urban space at its different scales.
The urban planner is a professional who prepares comprehensive and prospective diagnoses on urban situations, and then summons experts to propose interventions through plans and projects that favor and facilitate decision making in the short, medium and long term. To this end, it articulates the capacities, interests and needs of the various social actors involved, whether private and public communities and agents, balancing principles of equity, efficiency and sustainability. All this, to guarantee the common good and improve the quality of life of the people who inhabit the cities.
