Irish Cob Home Building Project Loughcrew, Hills, Oldcastle, Co Meath, Eire.
The walls are rising in the cob project here in the Loughcrew Hills. The weather is holding up fine, Here in this video of cob building you will see how we make our cob blocks blend into each other to form a wall of solid cob.
The cob walls we are building are 60cm in width as this will give the cob home an all around average temp inside of around 12 degrees. This stable heat will be due to the amount of clay and straw mingled within the walls.
In the USA in recent years a bale of straw has now been rated the highest wall insulator of all. Nothing beats natural straw when it comes to holding and providing heat.
We how you liked this part three video..and are looking forward to watching part 4 which is now live.
