– Here we are at Dublin air traffic control tower with Christmas just around the corner. Christmas is an extremely busy time of year in the Irish Aviation Authority. And in particular here at Dublin Airport. As you know safety is of paramount importance to us here at the IAA. Air traffic controllers work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year bringing you and your loved ones in and out of Ireland. People passing through the airport will have noticed the new air traffic control tower which is currently under construction. New air traffic control tower is one of the tallest structures in Ireland and supports operations of the new second runway. Here at Dublin Airport in the busy lead up to Christmas controllers will safely handle over 700 hundred flights per day handing over 100000 passengers in and out of Dublin. This means an aircraft lands or takes off every 70 seconds at Dublin over Christmas. We here at the Irish Aviation Authority would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy Christmas.
